Greg Haas

Part owner, and Operations Manager, Greg Haas is the backbone of Twisted Tree. With over 15 years experience as a professional AND volunteer firefighter, Greg has SEVERAL THOUSAND HOURS of time on active Wildfires ranging from Alaska to California. He has done fire roles as crew and engine member, engine boss, professional Faller, Fireline EMT, Incident Medical Specialist, Medical Unit Leader, and more. He is also a senior firefighter for a volunteer department, and experienced in Structural Fires and structure assessment.

His experience and background have led to Greg spending the last few years working on a Type 2 Incident Management Team, giving him well rounded experience and exposure to the management side of fire. He is highly sought after on the fireline, and continues to fight Wildfires all over the nation every year.

Greg is a second generation Wildlands Firefighter, and grew up with a mom on dedicated fire crews and a dad who was one of the most experienced fireline fallers in Montana. Greg’s extensive background includes mechanical and helicopter logging, low impact fuels reduction, hazard tree removal, road safety projects, controlled burns, general fuels reduction, firewise landscape design and install, hidden fire suppression systems.. the list goes on!

When it comes to Wildfires , fuels reduction, and Fire safety, experience is important!

Matt Haas

Matt Haas is co-owner of Twisted Tree with his brother Greg. Matt grew up in a forestry and fire oriented family but took a different course as a professional mining engineer. Matt has worked over 20-years in large-scale gold mining operations across the globe. He started his career in Nevada and has spent most of the last 15-years working overseas in Ghana, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia. Matt specializes in business and strategic planning, and has been heavily involved leading large scale expansion projects of $50-800 Million in capex.

Matt is currently finishing the last couple years of overseas work and will return to take a full-time role in Twisted Tree soon.

Matt Kenworthy

Matt Kenworthy is from North Georgia, where he was an integral part of the family horse business, Paradise Arabians, one of the largest Egyptian Arabian farms in the USA. He learned and worked with horses from an early age. Rising to Breeding and Sales Manager, he cared for horses and ensured good breeding lines. Along with those responsibilities, he also directed twenty-two employees in the daily care of the farm. By selling high-end horses to various clients of various backgrounds, he helped support the family farm.

When the family decided to sell the farm after 25 years, Matt moved to Montana to marry the love of his life, Nikki. They and their daughter Chyanne opened Work Horse Logistics in 2020. Work Horse Logistics operates as a company that provides contract vehicles, personnel, and experience to wildfires as well as other natural disasters. They have provided the opportunity to support other companies with the chance to contract out on fires too. These past few years with the invention and innovation of Remote Rescue Vehicles and Fire Line support vehicles, Work Horse Logistics has provided the services to see these vehicles tested in the fire world with real firsthand experience of patient and firefighting support.

Matt joined the Twisted Tree family in 2023. He brings years of Sales and Contracting services with him to Twisted Tree. Occasionally, Matt, Nicki and Chyanne have even joined the Fire and Forestry crew in the field providing fuels reduction and burning services for multiple high-end clients in SW MT. He's proven to be an asset to Twisted Tree and the fire world. He plans to continue working with Twisted Tree and supporting the mission to make the emergency services world safer!
